How To Refresh Your Space On A Budget
How to refresh your space on a budget
There is no better feeling than refreshing a space in your home. It brings a new energy, a sense of calm and order, and a feeling of pride as you sit back and soak it all in. A tidy and beautiful environment can help wonderfully with our mindset, mood and motivation.
In our current climate, expensive renovations can feel a little out of reach, so I have put together my top tips on how to refresh your space on a budget. Not only are these bank account friendly, but they are also great for renters who may not be able to make bold permanent changes to their home. Check them out below!
1. Rearrange the room
If possible, moving your furniture around can totally transform your space. This is also great to do for little ones' bedrooms and playrooms, as it feels like a whole new environment for them to discover and enjoy. If moving your furniture won't work in your space, then start small like swapping out your coffee table books. Rearranging your shelves is also a really easy way to do this - change up the photos or prints in your frames, move your ornaments around, reorder your books (try grouping in different sizes or colours), add a plant or a candle. In your little ones room you can also do this by rotating their toys that are on display.
2. Add some greenery
Adding a new plant into your space is a fantastic way of providing maximum impact at a low price. They bring a splash of colour and require very little effort. On the smaller scale you can add a little succulent to your shelves, while on the larger scale you can add a big fiddle leaf fig into the corner of a room to make more of a statement. Plus... they are great for purifying the air that we breathe!
3. Update your wall art
Instead of repainting your walls, adding some new wall art is a beautiful way to refresh a room on a temporary basis. Whether you add a large feature piece, a gallery wall or a small framed print on a ledge, it'll bring some new colour and depth into your home. For a little inspo, explore my wall art here.
4. Switch up the soft furnishings
After a while our blankets, rugs, pillow cases and bedlinen can always do with replacing (especially if you have kids or pets!). Switching up your soft furnishings makes your environment more comfortable and is an opportunity to mix up the textures, prints and patterns in your space.
5. Do a deep clean
You know what they say... tidy space, tidy mind! I LOVE a deep clean and they're a great place to start when sprucing up an area. It'll feel instantly refreshed, look more appealing and smell better, as well as being more hygienic. Don't forget the little nooks and crannies that are easily forgotten but make a big difference, like light fixtures, ceiling fans, baseboards, window blinds and air vents.
6. Freshen up with fragrance
Last but not least, adding a new candle or diffuser into your room will really freshen things up. If you're a fan of fresh flowers, treating yourself to a bunch is a gorgeous (albeit temporary) way to add extra colour and aroma to the air!
I hope you are feeling inspired and ready to refresh your space on a budget. If you have any more tips to add, please share them in the comments!
