How to add colour into your home
How to add colour into your home: my top tips & inspo
It's no surprise that I love colour! It brings me so much joy and it plays a key role in all of my artwork. I know that people can be afraid of colour or have no idea how to introduce it into a space, so I have put together my 4 top tips to help you add more colour into your home and turn your rooms from beige & blah to vibrant & fabulous!
Tip 1: Textiles
Incorporating colourful textiles into a space is a low cost, low maintenance way of brightening up your home. On the smaller scale you can update your throws, linen and cushions, but if you're looking to make more of a splash then invest in a new colourful sofa or area rug in a feature colour - then look to tie this in with more accents throughout the room.
Tip 2: Paint
Picking up a paint brush is a much larger commitment, but it makes the most amazing impact! Whether you're refreshing all four walls or creating a feature wall, repainting a space is the boldest way to add colour into your home. If you are renting or unable to make permanent changes to your room, check out some of the wonderful businesses that sell wall decals or removable wallpaper.
Tip 3: Wall Art
My favourite way to bring more colour to an area is through wall art. It's actually the perfect place to start when decorating a room. Try finding your perfect piece of artwork at the beginning of your renovation, as then it can shape the colour palette of the room and help you with other decisions such as which accessories to pick. Tip 4: Florals & Greenery
Adding flowers and plants to a room is a great way to make a space feel more vibrant, colourful and interesting with a small budget. Play it safe with simple greenery or be more adventurous with some colourful blooms that compliment your artwork & textiles.
